This week in Foremost Golf’s news letter they let all their members know Regency Purchasing’s good news.

Regency Purchasing have managed to pass on price reductions to
Foremost members at a time when food prices across the market are increasing.

The ever increasing number of Foremost members in the group have lead to these price reductions as every new member brings with them a new level of purchasing power.

Managing Director for Regency Purchasing Alex Demetriou says:

In addition to the price decreases each Foremost member received when they signed up with Regency we’ve now managed to secure additional decreases across key lines.

Members have been secured a saving of up to 13.7% across a variety of products and each of the relevant Foremost members have been contacted directly by their personal account manager to be told the good news.

Following on from the news that Regency reduced pricing to all PPA members, they have also announced fixed pricing for the next six months with all their food suppliers.

Managing Director for Regency Purchasing Alex Demetriou says:

You have freedom to use their recommended suppliers, or not, it is totally up to you. Then they even back this up by dealing with their dedicated representatives on your behalf, saving you time. Who else offers you that at no cost to you?

Regency Purchasing Group (RPG) has been appointed as the nominated purchasing group to the Somerset Tourism Association. The STA has over 400 members across the county.

Managing Director of RPG Alex Demetriou said that although the company was currently expanding rapidly across the UK, he was extremely pleased to be supporting Somerset businesses and local traders as this is where RPG started out almost thirty years ago.

Alex Demetriou said:

I am delighted that we have been appointed as the STA’s approved purchasing group. The STA is a very proactive association and they are doing some fantastic work to drive visitors to the local area.

STA members will now have both the support of STA marketing strategy, and be making substantial savings by purchasing through us. Put together, this will offer members a fantastic support package in the current economic climate.

John Turner, the Vice Chairman of the STA and its lead brand Visit Somerset said:

The STA is very excited about working with such a well-respected business such as RPG and we are looking forward to the opportunities working with the group will bring to all our members, reducing overheads and in doing so, passing on savings to our Somerset customers.
Somerset tourism is worth £1.1 billion pounds to the local economy and 31,000 jobs. For the STA to align itself with such a big business can only help to support our ambitions.

In January Regency Purchasing invited its members and approved suppliers to meet on the Grand Pier for a trade show.

National and local suppliers provided information, samples and demonstrations throughout the course of the day and members were invited to chat about any products or queries they had as well as receiving a £25 ride voucher for use on the Pier.

A lot of food was eaten, the Go Kart track was very busy and a lot of leads and relationships were created as well as the strengthening of those already in existence. Member’s enjoyed talking to representatives from national brands such as Heineken, Fullers London Pride and Walls Ice Cream as well as getting to know their local suppliers such as Charles Saunders and Swallow Drinks.

Overall everybody enjoyed their day and as Graham Starkey Business Development manager for Foremost Golf put it:

The recent Regency Purchasing Group Trade Show held at Weston-super-Mare’s Grand Pier was a great event for me to see the people behind the brands. It reassured me that the selection process to bring in quality suppliers is based on people looking after people, as well as the need to provide fantastic service, value and pricing. The level of expertise and knowledge on show was tremendous and the value these supplier partnerships can bring to your business is unquestioned. After being at the trade show I am more convinced than ever that not only are The Regency Purchasing Group fantastic business partners for Foremost but the suppliers we are introducing to our customers are the best in the business too.

Special offers were snapped up by members on the day, including a unique saving on Lucozade and cases of free real ale.

Regency Purchasing Group will hold a Food and Drink Service Exhibition on the Grand Pier on Wednesday 25th January.

The group, which was set up in Weston 23 years ago, has invited all its trade members to come along to the show.

Live cookery demonstrations will take place throughout the day, along with cocktail lessons. There will also be wine and coffee tasting opportunities. Each guest attending the show will also receive a £25 Grand Pier ride voucher.

Regency Purchasing Group Managing Director Alex Demetriou said:

We thought we’d welcome in the New Year by introducing our purchasing group members to some fresh ideas and experience the expertise of our food and drink suppliers. They want to share their inspiration and money saving ideas with our members.

I think the event will be very educational and it will also be a fun day out for our members, many of whom will not have been to the Grand Pier before.

We have seen our business grow by 65% in the last year as the recession has bitten hard and trading has become difficult. Our pricing is extremely competitive, so businesses are coming to us to get the best deals possible.

With over 150 players and 50 teams this event was another great success for the local Somerset Golf Union. The Regency Purchasing Group were invited to sponsor the event by the local Somerset Golf Union elected member Mr John Keight. When John approached us the Regency Purchasing Group were very happy to get involved. The Regency Group are always keen to support local business and local associations as its important for all local businesses to support each other at all time and especially during these tough economic times. Among the clubs attending on the day were Wells Golf Club, Burnham and Berrow Golf Club, Worlebury Golf Club and of course the hosting club Weston-super-Mare.

On the day The Regency Group was ain turn supported by two of their key suppliers in Matthew Clark and Brakes. In conjunction with these suppliers the day was also supported by The Feel Good Drink Company, Bottle Green Drinks and Nestle.

The Regency Purchasing Group proudly and strongly support the game of golf whenever possible, this support is given regionally with our local golf unions and nationally with companies such as Foremost Golf.

Over £2500 was raised on the day for Junior Golf throughout Somerset so it was a very worthwhile cause and The Regency Purchasing Group would like thank The Somerset Golf Union for offering them the chance to support such a worthy cause.

Among the guests and delegates were a number of business owners from not only the UK but from all around the world including South Africa and the USA.

Among the presenters and delegates attending the conference over the two days were Simon Eagen from Bewilderwood in East Anglia, Edward Pawley from Drayton Manor in Staffordshire, Andy Beer from The National Trust and Tristram Meyhew from Go Ape who have centres throughout the UK. Visitors from further afield who made trip included Sabine Lehmann from Table Mountain in South Africa and Vision international partners Anke Schwarzwälder and Chris Rumbell.

The overriding theme for the two day event was Return On Investment in your leisure business taking in areas such as investment in catering and investment in yourself and your people. The Regency Purchasing Group presented specifically on the challenges associated with investing into your catering offer and maximising the profits as a result, the presentation asked the following questions:

What can we improve?

How can we make more money?

What is the best attraction food in the country?

The conference was a great success and as a result The Regency Purchasing Group has signed a number of significant deals with some high profile businesses as a direct result of their involvement.
