Regency’s Business Development Director, Sian Collins, and former Regency team member Kerry Laurie, along with a group of 53 friends and family, challenged themselves to a charity hike involving a 5,000 ft ascent and a gruelling climb up (and down) eight peaks in the Lake District, all for a cause that is extremely close to Sian’s heart and local to Regency's head office in Weston-super-Mare.
Six years ago, Sian’s very close friends, Sarah and Shane, lost their eight year old son to a very rare and aggressive cancer. Sadly, there is very little support for bereaved parents in the UK, so following their devasting loss, they set up the 'BeMoreBen' charity to provide support to bereaved parents and their families.
Regency Purchasing Group supports numerous charities and causes throughout the year, with a focus on local charities and causes that are particularly meaningful to Regency team members and their loved ones.
In addition to Regency’s donation, several Regency suppliers went above and beyond with their support and generosity by providing food and drinks to keep everyone fuelled and energised throughout the weekend; A David supplied endless fruit and veg, PepsiCO donated breakfast supplies and snacks, and Britvic kept everyone hydrated with bottles of water.
All 55 hikers successfully completed the challenge, and to date, they have collectively raised over £55,000 in Ben's legacy – and they continue to raise awareness for this hugely worthy cause.
Thank you to all the suppliers for their huge generosity.
