Last month, Regency member Gillespie Leisure, a group of family-owned holiday parks across Dumfries and Galloway visited Brakes UK to explore ways in which they could enhance their current pizza offering to increase footfall and sales from their beach-front cafes without investing in a complete kitchen refit.
The holiday park operator was previously offering visitors pizzas cooked from frozen, prepared and served by lower-skilled, seasonal staff; this process resulted in various consistency and product quality challenges.
The team from Gillespie Leisure visited the Brakes UK development centre, accompanied by their Regency Procurement Manager, Shaun Williamson to meet with Emma Forbe, Brakes Framework Account Manager and Country Choice Foodservice Controller, Ben O'Mahoney, where they were shown a selection of grab-and-go food concepts that had been handpicked to meet their objectives.
Following a successful day discovering the many innovative and on-trend options available to them, Gillespie selected a number of pizza concepts and quick-serve concepts to replace their current offering.
The holiday parks will also be supported by Regency with their draught beer purchasing, as well as benefitting from discounts from Regency's Booker and Nisbets agreements.
