The 11,000 sqft space, known as GPO Liverpool (the name paying homage to the building’s past life as the city’s old General Post Office), brings together independent food and drink traders all under one roof.
GPO opened its doors for the first time in June and now serves tacos and Thai food, bubble tea and burgers, championing independent regional food talent and showcasing a wide variety of cuisine with a focus on high quality street food.
The newly launched food hall is the latest venture for hospitality company, The Milestone Group, who also operate a number of successful street food hubs in the north of England, such as Cutlery Works in Sheffield.
Regency Purchasing Group has been working with The Milestone Group for over five years, initially focusing on cost savings for food and catering supplies at their three independent restaurants. As the partnership developed, our team delivered further support on additional categories including drinks and non-food procurement.
Working alongside Matt Bigland, Founder and Director of The Milestone Group, our team played a significant part in the launch of GPO; from sourcing and organising full beer tap wall installations, to managing the supply of catering products to the independent vendors and providing hygiene services.
In addition to this, as GPO is The Milestone Group’s first venue in Liverpool, our operational expertise was also called upon as we helped develop the customer brand proposition; analysing existing food outlets, identifying opportunities and developing and understanding the customer profile.
