The Health and Safety Executive has started carrying out spot checks and inspections on all types of businesses in all areas to ensure they are Covid compliant.

They are phoning and visiting premises directly in order to speak to employers to check the measures that have been put in place to keep workplaces secure.

They’ve advised that the sensible steps to do this include:

• Carrying out a Covid-19 risk assessment
• Maintaining social distancing
• Abiding by the rules and regulations put in place by the government
• Keeping workplaces clean with hand washing and hygiene practices being undertaken by all staff members.
