Customer Service Coordinator

The role:

Up to £25,000 DOE

We have an exciting new opportunity for a full-time Customer Service and Telemarketing Coordinator to join our multi-skilled customer service team at our centrally located head office in Weston-super-Mare.

The purpose of this role will be to make contact with our existing customers (we call them members) to identify opportunities. Your goal will be to help our company grow by increasing our levels of service and support.

You will be calling businesses who are already familiar with our services (so no cold-calling!) providing them with excellent customer service and highlighting the additional benefits available to them.

As you develop in the role, you’ll get to know your way around our systems and processes, but we don’t expect you to have all the answers straightaway; you’ll have a friendly team around you who will provide you with all the training you need to hit the ground running.

We’re looking for someone with ambition and enthusiasm who can get going quickly; you’ll need to be interested in learning new skills and comfortable working in a busy office environment.

This is an office-based role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Making outbound contact (via phone and email) to our ever-growing member base
  • Providing information about our services and suppliers and responding to questions and queries
  • Asking questions to understand customer requirements
  • Managing your own call lists and sending and scheduling phone and email follow-ups
  • Managing and updating customer information in our CRM system (training provided)
  • Referring interested customers (leads) to the field-based team
  • Answering incoming telephone calls and responding to emails
  • Resolving customer and supplier queries
  • Supporting the field-based team with administrative tasks
  • General office administration.

Essential skills:

  • Confident, friendly and professional with excellent telephone manner
  • Comfortable making calls and working within a busy office environment
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good IT skills, including good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills.

Desirable skills:

  • Previous telesales, telemarketing or customer service experience (in any industry)
  • Interest or experience within the food and drink industry – restaurants, bars, hotels (because most of our members are hospitality businesses).
