The National Living Wage is set to increase by 2.2% to £8.91 an hour from April.
Rishi Sunak announced the changes in his spending review and stated in the House of Commons:
“We are accepting, in full, the recommendations of the Low Pay Commission. Taken together, these minimum wage increases will likely benefit about two million people. A full-time worker on the National Minimum Wage will see their annual earnings increase by £345 next year. And compared with 2016, when the policy was first introduced, that’s a pay rise of more than £4,000.”
