New Opening: Neepsend Social Club and Canteen, Sheffield

12 July, 2022

We’re thrilled to have been involved in the recent opening of Neepsend Social Club and Canteen in Sheffield – a modern re-imagining of a classic social club complete with bar, games area for a quick round of darts or table foosball, and canteen style restaurant.

Neepsend is the latest venture for twin brothers, Tom and Ben Miller, who have been Regency members for over six years having previously owned Slick Chicks at the Cutlery Works in Sheffield, and who also own and successfully operate The Gravy Train, a mobile catering business serving up poutine (a French-Canadian dish consisting of rustic French fries, cheese curds and gravy) at festivals and events across the UK.

Neepsend Social Club and Canteen is the owner’s first stand-alone food outlet and has been created from scratch within a former industrial unit.

The newly-opened site is now serving customers British classics with a unique modern twist. All food is prepared onsite, including homemade sauces and dishes such as cheese and leek rissole with Hendo’s pickled eggs, chicken in a basket with chips, gravy and coleslaw, and fish finger sandwiches. They’ll also serve freshly cooked sausage rolls on the bar every day and Sunday lunches will soon be launching.

The team at Regency Purchasing Group have been working with Tom and Ben since 2016, when they first began their mobile catering business. At that time, as a start-up they had no commercial kitchen as all food was prepared at their home address, so they were unable to receive deliveries from wholesale suppliers. In order to support their new venture, the Regency team facilitated orders and deliveries and helped their business get off the ground – and in time, Regency assisted with more and more of the food and drink purchasing, across their multiple businesses.

The Regency team supported the opening of this new site and we now manage the purchasing of all food and drink, plus non-food and utilities through suppliers such as Brakes, Booker, Molson Coors, HB Clark and UHL (to name just a few).

We’re extremely proud to have been part of this business’s growth journey over the years – and we’re looking forward to continuing to support Tom and Ben as their business continues to grow.
