Having made the decision to keep pubs and restaurants in France closed over the festive period, President Emmanuel Macron, announced that businesses will have the choice of receiving up to €10,000 (£8,900) or 20% of their turnover from a “solidarity fund”.
These hospitality establishments have been told they will remain closed until the 20th of January when the situation will be reassessed and if new infections are at 5,000 a day or less than they may be permitted to reopen.
