Updates on 'Ways to Pay' for Customers

14 October, 2020

Guidance has been updated on taking payments from customers to allow for customers to pay at the counter rather than at their table where adequate safety measures are in place. This will help businesses with few or no handheld card machines. The guidance states at the following points in the document:

2.2.6 Encouraging contactless payments where possible and adjusting location of card readers to social distancing guidelines (2m or 1m with risk mitigation where 2m is not viable)

2.2.9 (…) Payment should also be taken at a bar or counter if safety measures are in place.
