Regency Purchasing Group’s Scottish team recently spent a valuable and insightful day with the team at Brakes Scotland, deepening collaboration and exploring new ways to support Regency members across the region.

The visit brought together colleagues from both organisations, alongside a selection of key Scottish suppliers, creating a collaborative environment focused on alignment, innovation, and opportunity.

The exploration day took place at the Newhouse depot which has recently undergone a £15 million warehouse extension backed by Sysco, The depot is now 100% locally stocked, holding an extensive range of regional and speciality lines. The business now works with 83 Scottish suppliers, offers more than 500 Scottish products, and stocks over 160 lines available exclusively in Scotland.

A key focus of the day was identifying how Regency and Brakes teams can continue to build their already successful partnership. The group was given a comprehensive tour of the depot, offering a first-hand look at operational excellence in action. A highlight of the visit was the introduction to Brakes’ new Fresh extension. This development is set to significantly enhance product availability and quality for Regency members, reinforcing Brakes’ commitment to innovation and service.

The Regency team also had the opportunity to learn about new product ranges, guided by Brakes’ development chef, Michael. This session provided practical insights into how these ranges can be utilised to meet evolving customer needs and inspire menu development.

The visit also included time with selected Scottish suppliers, giving the Regency team a deeper understanding of their product offerings. These conversations highlighted opportunities while also strengthening regional supplier relationships.

This collaborative approach reflects a shared commitment to delivering greater value, improving alignment and unlocking new opportunities across Scotland. The day proved to be a meaningful step forward in strengthening the partnership between Regency Purchasing Group and Brakes - and there’s much more to come.
