Regional Operations Manager

2x(North, Midlands)

The role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Regional Operations Manager to join our experienced, field-based business development and customer centric teams.

Reporting to the Customer Development Director, the role will focus primarily on heading up a team of Procurement Managers and Executives, to support, coach and increase sales whilst maintaining category management and retaining a customer service focus. You will manage your team in a geographical area with areas of focus including pubs, hotels, bars, golf clubs and leisure venues. You will also have a small ledger of your own to grow and retain.

You must be capable of developing long-term customer relationships with existing, new customers and suppliers, plus hold a tenacious and enthusiastic attitude in order to drive opportunities through from first meeting to trading customer

You will work closely with the field-based procurement team, Customer Services and members of the senior management team to grow our membership base and sales volumes via our partner suppliers.

We’re looking for someone with experience and a strong background in field-sales and leading a team, with ambition and enthusiasm who can get going quickly; you’ll need to be results-focused with a desire to engage with market-leading suppliers and brand owners, allowing you the opportunity to build on and hone your sales experience and grow your role within our business. This is a field-based role with monthly visits to the HQ near Bristol.

Essential skills:

  • Extensive and proven track record working in field sales within the food and drink industry and/or field sales to customers within the leisure and hospitality industry
  • A proven track record in managing a successful team of field-based colleagues.
  • A proven track record in coaching and leadership.
  • Ability to develop long-term relationships with existing and new customers and suppliers.
  • Confidence and ability to drive opportunities through from first meeting to trading customer
  • An understanding of the UK’s catering, licensing and leisure industries
  • Driven, strategic and service-focused
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A passion to build on existing customer focused experience
  • Confident, friendly and professional
  • Good IT skills, including good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Training and adaptability, to use our internal systems and software.
  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.

Desirable skills:

  • Previous experience working in a leadership role with a team.
