HG Walter support National Harvest Service (in partnership with Love British Food)

24 September, 2025

HG Walter is pleased to be sponsoring the National Harvest Service, co-run by Love British Food and held at Westminster Abbey. Our sponsorship reflects our commitment to celebrating Britain’s agricultural heritage, strengthening connections between producers and consumers and recognising the role of food in community life.

About the National Harvest Service

  • The National Harvest Service was launched in 2013, with its inaugural service at Westminster Abbey - the first harvest service at the Abbey in nearly half a century.
  • Each year the service is hosted in a different city or parish during British Food Fortnight.
  • A specially commissioned Harvest Torch (a sculpture symbolising agricultural abundance) is blessed at Westminster Abbey and then travels across the country, passed from host city to host city in the spirit of continuity and shared celebration.
  • The service reaffirms harvest as a living tradition that connects urban and rural life, reminds us of our dependence on the land, and inspires stewardship.

Why this matters to us
HG Walter and Love British Food share a strong relationship, rooted in respect for quality, provenance, and integrity in the food supply chain. Supporting this service is a natural extension of our values, and a way of helping to bring renewed attention to the vital role of British farmers, growers, and food producers.
