Poor mental health is affecting people's lives on a global scale; at Regency Purchasing Group, we believe that so much more can be done to help and support people in the workplace to ensure every member of the team is part of a positive mental health culture, creating a future where good mental health and wellbeing in the workplace is commonplace.
This month, a number of Regency team members completed a two-day Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course equipping them with the skills they need to support themselves, their team and those close to them.
Mental Health First Aid is an internationally recognised training course, designed to teach people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis.
In the same way as learning physical first aid, MHFA teaches people how to recognise those crucial warning signs of mental ill health and feel confident to guide someone to appropriate support.
By embedding MHFA training within our organisation, we hope to encourage our team and wider network of members and suppliers to talk more freely about mental health, reducing stigma and creating a more positive culture.
Well done to Anna, Carole and Sharon for completing the course and sharing their learnings, experience and the resources available with the wider team.
