Regency team paddles for a purpose at the annual Booker Dragon Boat Race

15 June, 2026

Regency Purchasing Group was proud to take part in this year’s Booker Dragon Boat Race, joining more than 450 colleagues, suppliers and partners for a memorable day of fundraising in support of GroceryAid.

Held against the stunning backdrop of Bisham Abbey on the River Thames, the annual event brought together over 40 teams for a day of teamwork, friendly competition and community spirit. Despite challenging weather conditions, with wind and rain making for a thoroughly wet day, spirits remained high throughout.

This marked Regency’s second year taking part in the annual event, with the team once again demonstrating its commitment to supporting the grocery industry and the people behind it.

A Strong Team Effort

Representing Regency on the water were Ben, Martin, Anna, Cherone and Will, who shared their dragon boat with paddling partners from supply partner St Pierre and Robert from Booker.

The conditions may have been challenging, but the team's determination and enthusiasm never wavered. Alongside the racing, the event provided a fantastic opportunity to catch up with Booker colleagues, brand owners, suppliers and the wider grocery network.

Adding to the team spirit, Regency's branded team t-shirts were kindly provided for a second consecutive year by Clothing for Events, helping the team look the part despite the challenging weather.

£420,000 Raised for GroceryAid

The real success of the day was the incredible fundraising achievement; together, participants, suppliers and supporters helped raise over £420,000 for GroceryAid. These funds will enable GroceryAid to continue providing vital practical, emotional and financial support to grocery colleagues and their families across the UK.

Proud to Be Part of It

Regency Purchasing Group is delighted to have played a part in another hugely successful Booker Dragon Boat Race. The event once again highlighted the strength of collaboration across the industry and demonstrated what can be achieved when colleagues, suppliers and partners come together for a shared cause.

Together, we have helped make a meaningful difference to thousands of grocery workers and their families across the UK.
